Trusted European Media data Space
The innovation project TEMS – which stands for Trusted European Media data Space – is a joint undertaking of 43 organizations representing hundreds of stakeholders from 14 countries in the cultural and creative sectors. TEMS is the flagship European initiative to build a resilient data-driven ecosystem in the media sector.

The initiative is a core element in the implementation of the European Data Strategy. With an investment of EUR 16.5 million, the consortium represents a milestone in the way the media sector will be able to share and extract value from data. By doing so, TEMS aims to support the economic development and future growth of local and regional media ecosystems across Europe. The project runs from 2023-2026 and is funded by the Digital Europe Programme of the European Union Under Grant Agreement No. 101123423.
By a large-scale deployment of cutting-edge services, infrastructures, and platforms, TEMS aims to redefine the way the media sector will be able to share and extract value from data. This will lead to an economic development and growth of local and regional media ecosystems across Europe. Data is the new currency and data-driven businesses will shape the future.
By 2026, TEMS will conduct 8 TRIALS covering topics such as the exchange of fact checks, user data, personalized advertising, content syndication, or new distribution formats. Highberg (formerly Schickler) is proud to be part of Trial 3 demonstrating how use cases regarding audience analytics and personalization services from DRIVE can be incorporated into TEMS. DRIVE is a joint initiative with dpa and 30 regional news publishers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, that has been founded in 2020.
